In 2006, Carol Dweck published the first edition of her book, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success. Her research started the conversation about “fixed” and “growth” mindsets, and it has changed the way thousands of educators and teachers talk about learning and development. For me, it has influenced how I teach, train, develop, and educate people of all ages. In this article, I will provide a quick definition of what the fixed and growth mindsets entail, and then I’ll offer some suggestions on how you can use this time of uncertainty to decrease your fixed mindset tendencies and strengthen your growth mindset.
