Women and Crying in Workplace Settings
LinkedIn (2018)

Abstract
Crying at work is typically an unusual occurrence and can relate to many emotions such as grief, loss, sadness, happiness, relief, anger, humiliation, guilt, frustration, conflict, discouragement, and more. Crying often makes observers uncomfortable and draws attention, which also leads onlookers to search for an explanation. Because the emotions associated with crying are often complex, understanding the underlying emotions can help observers determine whether or not crying is appropriate in a particular setting or context.
