About Susan K. Salterberg

Susan Salterberg has more than 25 years of combined experience in communications and environmental education work. She plans programs to address environmental education needs in Iowa. One program addresses the need for waste reduction – preventing waste and pollution before it is generated. She offers graduate credit courses for teachers on the topic, introducing teachers to waste reduction and life cycle analysis concepts, as well as classroom-ready lesson plans. Susan also works with communities to develop Community Reading and Environment month-long celebrations. Currently, she assists Iowa’s Resource Enhancement and Protection Conservation Education Program (REAP CEP) Board with the CEP grant program. Among her responsibilities, she monitors grant projects with the desire to build conservation education in Iowa.
