About Susan Edgar

Susan Edgar is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Education at the School of Physiotherapy. Her role includes the coordination of pre-clinical hours and clinical placements across the first two years of the program. Susan also conducts clinical educator training for physiotherapists and other health care professionals in WA health. Her research interests and current projects include: reflective practice; the preparation of students and clinical educators for WIL; the role of the admission interview for student selection; workforce issues and planning; and student motivation and engagement. Susan won an OLT Citation in 2012 as part of the Clinical Education Team for developing and scaffolding reflective practice skills in an online environment to promote independent work-ready graduates. She has won several government tenders to provide clinical education courses (both Foundational and Intermediate) to WA health professionals in both metropolitan and rural locations. Susan is the current convenor of the WA branch of the Educators Group for the Australian Physiotherapy Association and also sits on the WA committees of HERDSA and ACEN. Susan is a committee member and ex-chair of the School of Physiotherapy Learning and Teaching Committee and continues to oversee assessment review for the School. She also sits on the Assessment Committee for the Australian Physiotherapy Council with a role in both the written assessment and clinical assessment working parties.
