Abstract
The crisis in American science education in grades K-12 affects all of us. Children are tomorrow's science majors, graduate students, research assistants, employees, colleagues, and clients. As voters, they'll help to decide issues of hazardous waste disposal, seismic and volcanic safety, ozone depletion, and continued support of universtiy, state, and federal science programs.
