Abstract
Theobjectiveofthisarticleistooutlineapproachestakenbycivilsocietyorganizations(CSOs)inordertoadvancetheirwork
insocialdevelopmentgiventhechangesintheaidarchitecture.ItfocusesontheLatinAmericanregion,particularlyAndean
countries,butmanyofthechallengesandopportunitiesina“post-aidworld”areinsightsthatmightprovehelpfultootherre-
gionsaswell.ThearticleprovidesacomprehensiveoutlineofapproachesthatCSOsaretakinggiventhechangesinaidgrouped
intothreecategories:aidmodels,organizationalconsiderationsandrevenuesourcesandmodesoffundraising.Manyofthese
havebeeninpracticeforsometimebutmightneedtobemorestrategicallyusedasCSOsmanagethechangingcontexts.CSOs
inLatinAmericaandtheAndesareconsideringamultitudeofoptions,andwhiletheapproachesconsideredinthearticleare
notanexhaustivelist,theyprovideanoverviewofviabledirections,whichmightpositivelyinﬂuenceCSOs’sustainabilityand
continuedprovisionandpromotionofamyriadofpublicgoodsandservices.Thearticleendswithobservationsaboutaidshifts
