Abstract
This book is a report that comprehensively analyzes laws, taxes, and economies for the development of Korea. While working at the headquarters of the National Tax Service of the Republic of Korea, I had a valuable opportunity to study in the United States (1995-1997) for two years with state scholarship (taxpayer’s precious money).
During my study period in the United States, I devoted myself to studies to acquire the advanced knowledge. After returning home, I published an article titled “Saving the Country” on the Internet (Chollian) on January 1, 1999 in the form of an 'Overseas Study Report' by mobilizing all the knowledge I gained from studying in the United States to repay the people. I then reorganized it and published it under the title "Road to Democratic State without Corruption" in April 2003.
Immediately after my returning from studying in the U.S., Korea suffered the bitter pain of the IMF bailout in November 1997. However, overcoming the crisis through the efforts of all the people, Korea has made a remarkable progress over the past 20 years and now became an advanced country by the UNCTAD on July 2, 2021.
There is a huge difference between Korea's appearance 24 years ago and Korea's appearance today, including the development of social and legal system, etc. If you read this book, you can understand what process Korea has gone through and how Korea has dealt with corruption problems, etc.
After the IMF bailout, Korea have performed a wide range of reforms such as the introduction of a U.S. law school system and the improvement of election system, etc. in order to settle down the developed democratic system and the people’s awareness on the democracy system has been highly improved.
This book still not only applies to Korea but also to other countries seeking national development, so I translated it into English for the development of the global community.
It studies the problems and solutions of society by comprehensively analyzing laws, taxes, and economies, which are the core of national management. Therefore, by understanding this book, readers can have the ability to understand the state management to some extent.
A democratic society cannot develop only with the efforts of some powerful people. Democracy develops only when the people are actively interested in the state management, such as logically pointing out the problems of state management and suggesting solutions.
