Developing Critical Global Citizenship: Vocational Reflection in International Learning Experiences
New Directions for Teaching and Learning (2022)

Abstract
This article analyzes recent trends in public opinion and higher education and argues that the real challenge to global education lies in helping students develop critical global citizenship, not intercultural competencies. Importantly, this article suggests that the high-impact practice of vocational reflection can change misplaced attitudes toward the purpose of global engagement.
