Abstract

An idea of a Trans-Tasman currency, one common between New Zealand and Australia is not something new. The question of New Zealand staying as the smallest industrialized country running an independent monetary policy, adopting the Australian dollar, or creating a hybrid ANZAC dollar with Australia was always reflected in the thought process of policy makers and business class of both the countries. This paper discusses the feasibility of such a union.
