Generalized order statistics unify the study of order statistics, record values, k-records, Pfeifer's records and several other cases of ordered random variables. We study the conditions under which a pair of generalized order statistics are ordered according to various stochastic orders like stochastic ordering, hazard rate ordering, likelihood ratio ordering and dispersive ordering. We also con- sider the problem of comparing the degree of dependence between a pair of generalized order statistics thus extending the recent work of Averous, Genest and Kochar (2005) for dependence among order statistics.
