About Professor Stuart Smith

Professor Stuart Smith has a PhD (Psychology) from Macquarie University (2000), an MSc (Psychology, 1995) and BSc(Hons: Psychology, Pure Mathematics, 1992) from the University of Sydney. During his PhD Prof Smith was selected from an internationally competitive field for a postdoctoral research fellowship at NASA’s Ames Research Centre (2000-2002). Between 2002-2007 he held academic teaching posts in Psychology at Trinity College and University College Dublin, Ireland. In 2008 he was awarded a highly competitive National Health and Medical Research Council Career Development Award-Industry, the first administered by the University of New South Wales. Following roles as Director of the University of Tasmania’s HEALTHY Research Centre (2013-2015) and Professor of Professor of Disruptive Technologies at the University of the Sunshine Coast (2015-2016), Professor Smith joined Southern Cross University in 2016 as Business Development Coordinator at the Coffs Harbour Campus.
