About Lindsay J Stirton Ph.D.

I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Sheffield, UK. I have previously worked at the University of Manchester, the University of East Anglia, The London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of the West Indies, Mona.
My work spans health services and medical law, regulation of network industries, judicial politics and comparative legal and administrative history.
Currently I am working on a project (with T T Arvind, York) researching the judicial politics of the House of Lords, until recently the United Kingdom's most senior appellate court. Our research involves the use of Bayesian item response theory modelling to estimate the ideological position of the Law Lords.
