About Stevie J. Swanson

Professor Swanson joined the LMU Duncan School of Law in 2021. She has over eighteen years of experience as a law professor. Most recently, she taught at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, but she has also taught at the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, and the University of Michigan Law School. At WMU Cooley, Professor Swanson was awarded Professor of the Year three times and the won the Stanley E. Beattie teaching award twice. The bulk of her practice experience centered around real estate development work in an affordable housing context. Professor Swanson has published both on property topics and on human trafficking. She is a native of rural Central Virginia. Professor Swanson received her undergraduate degree from Yale University, where she graduated with Distinction in the Major, and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
