About Steven LaiHing, Ph.D.

I am a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Sciences at Oakwood University teaching the Honors sections of our General Chemistry Courses. My research interests include environmental chemistry, natural product optimization and nanotechnology. Over the course of my mentorship 10+ students have traveled to present their research nationally and have pursued graduate or professional school. I am also an instruction consultant, certified academic advisor (AAMC and Graduate), a passionate STEM Educator, NSF grant(s) PI with 1.3+ Million dollars awarded in competitive funding, multi-certified online course developer, medical school liaison, Science communicator, active community member, and STEAM education advocate.
