Abstract

Supply chain network (SCN) infrastructure is vital to the sustainability of any urban environment. This study focuses on optimizing SCN restoration for a road network in the aftermath of major disruptions. The optimization problem consists of simultaneously assigning and scheduling repair crews to service damaged or destroyed SCN infrastructure elements to minimize the expected delivery times in the SCN after a major disruption. A new continuous-time linear mixed-integer mathematical formulation for SCN restoration is proposed. The formulation is tested on a single SCN infrastructure composed of a road network. Particular emphasis is given to understanding capability of the formulation under various experimental conditions.
