Abstract
The increasing demand and usage of virtual, distributed teams within organizations has led to an increase in research regarding their effectiveness and operations. Much of the research has been focused on the leadership of these teams. This symposium will specifically focus on the impact of distribution on team processes and team leadership. Each presentation will address a different facet of virtual teams including leader emergence, team process and shared leadership, and the role that shared leadership can play in involving isolates in distributed teams.
