About Steven Brunwasser

The overarching goal of my scholarship is to prevent chronic and burdensome health conditions. To achieve this, I have three specific aims:
1.      Improve identification of individuals at high risk for health complications
2.      Elucidate etiological mechanism (i.e., causal processes) contributing to the development of chronic health conditions that could be modified through intervention
3.      Develop and evaluate methods for delivering interventions in real-world settings (e.g., healthcare clinics and schools)
At present, my work focuses on three primary subject matter areas: (1) the role of prenatal adversity in the development of lifespan health problems; (2) the role of early respiratory infections in the development of chronic wheezing illness; and (3) the prevention of depression in adolescence and emerging adulthood.
