About Stephen C Glass

My background is in Exercise Physiology, with emphasis areas in Clinical Exercise Science (cardiac rehab) as well as training. My research interest areas are three-fold:1. Whole body metabolism. This includes study of the anaerobic threshold, EMG measured AT and other aspects of the threshold. 2. Perception of effort (RPE as well as self-selected exercise intensity. I am interested in the perceptual cues that we use to determine our exercise intensity. Examining self selected load 9for aerobic and strength) as well as what it takes to "teach" a particular effort sense, especially with strength training (since most self select way too low!). 3. Electromyography as a tool to examine muscle activation. Strength training or rehabilitation, I am interested in understanding which muscle are activated during various training regimens to understand the best means of training muscle(s).
