About Stephen P. Baker

Stephen P. Baker, MScPH,PhD(abd), is Assistant Professor of Quantitative Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Prior to joining the University in 1983 he spent several years designing, analyzing and managing clinical trials in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to teaching his course in Biostatistics he consults and collaborates with UMass researchers and students in both clinical and basic science research and with the University’s administration on such things as gender equity in faculty promotions. He previously has served as Director of Research and Evaluation for the Mass Division of Medical Assistance (MEDICAID) as part of the Commonwealth Medicine Program.
