Abstract
The synthesis and spectroscopic and magnetic characterization of several hydridotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1yl)borate iron(II,III) tricyanide complexes, a one-dimensional network, and a rectangular cluster are described. Treatment of [NEt4][(Tp*)FeIII(CN)3] with manganese(II) tosylate in DMF affords 1-D lattices, while triflate salts afford rectangular clusters. Magnetic studies indicate that the [(Tp*)Fe(CN)3]- centers are highly anisotropic (g = 2.92) and couple antiferromagnetically to the MnII centers present.
