Professor Stanley Fish is an American literary theorist, legal scholar, author, and public intellectual. He is the Floerscheimer Distinguished Professor of Law at Cardozo Law School in New York City, the Davidson-Kahn Distinguished University Professor of Humanities and Law at Florida International University and the College of Law, and Dean Emeritus of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Professor Fish has taught at Yale Law School, Columbia University, Duke University, the Johns Hopkins University, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Pennsylvania, and the John Marshall Law School. Professor Fish is an extraordinarily prolific author whose works include over 200 scholarly publications and books. While his research covers a variety of fields, Professor Fish has written for many of the country’s leading law journals, including Stanford Law Review, Duke Law Journal, Yale Law Journal, University of Chicago Law Review, Columbia Law Review, and Texas Law Review. Professor Fish holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Yale University.
