About Soam Prakash
Prof. Soam Prakash - Born at Patna (Bihar), he has passed his matriculation with flying colour taking 1st position in the entire district of Dhanbad, joined REI College at Agra and then graduated from University of Patna in 1976 and a postgraduate degree in Zoology from Kanpur University with an order of merit.
He joined as instructor in his alma mater, REI Degree College and gradually became Professor in 2010 has successfully completed many projects of DST, UGC and AICTE worth more than crores. He has been very active researcher and have guided 10 Ph.Ds in the area of Parasitology, Vector Control, Microbial Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Nanotechnology and Consciousness studies. He has published more than 88 international papers, crowned with Ronald Ross Award, Vijay Ratan Award and has been nominated among 100 leading scientists in the world by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England in 2015. He has also received Best teacher award (IISc Bengaluru), Best paper presentation award (NESA) and presently editor/reviewer of 22 international journals of repute. He has given 13 Keynote addresses in international conferences and chaired sessions.
He has been offered to be chief editor, group leader in the Journal of consciousness science, Parasitology, vector control and biotechnology. He has presented more than 78 papers in international and national conferences and seminars etc.
He is a Fellow of Zoology (India) FAZ and the member of National Academy of Science (Allahabad, India). All of his research students are well placed like directors, professors, advisers in India and Abroad.

- IASR announced Namita Soni and Soam Prakash among World’s 500 Most Influential Biotechnologists for Year 2015 on Earth. They earned Ronald Ross Award-2015 in Vector Control Biotechnology.
- Nominated as Top 100 Scientists by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England in 2015.
- Golden Man of the Year Award by the International Success Awareness Society, New Delhi India, 2005. at New Delhi.
- “Vijay Ratan” Year Award by the India International Friendship Society, New Delhi, 2005 at Cannought Hotel New Delhi after acknowledging his service in Science as well as in Society.
- Scientist of the Year Award for 2006 by National Environmental Science Academy
- Best Teacher Award at I.I.SC. Bangalore in 1994 in orientation programme 1986.
