Dr Kang received his PhD with a thesis titled, ‘The Yang-Mills functional and Laplace's equation on quantum Heisenberg manifolds’ from the University of Colorado, Boulder U.S. in 2009 and commenced post-doctoral research with the University of Wollongong in 2010
