AbstractThe following aspects are covered: (1) the chemistry of acid mine drainage and its effects on aquatic life; (2) ecological engineering design for wetlands as mine drainage treatment systems, and (3) a case study of experimental wetlands for treating acid mine drainage in eastern Ohio, USA.
