Special Collections & University Archives Librarian at The University of Iowa 1999-2012 and at present Emeritus with courtesy appointment in the School of Library and Information Science and Associate status with the Center for the Book; The University of Tulsa 1984-1999; Syracuse University 1980-1984; The University of Chicago 1970-1980. Areas of accomplishment: rare book, manuscript, and university archive administration; book and paper preservation; staff development; library advancement (GIK and fundraising).
I was born and grew up in northwest North Dakota; completed high school at Lewis & Clark HS, Spokane, Washington; and completed BA (Tutorial Studies, 1963) and MA (Philosophy, 1969) degrees at The University of Chicago; held a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship at Stanford University 1963-1964.
