Shreya Pattisapu is a senior at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) from Aurora, Illinois. Her academics interests include biology, specifically neurobiology and neuroscience. She conducts research on Alzheimer's Disease at the Klein Lab at Northwestern University. Shreya hopes to follow this path into the medical field in the future. Especially drawn to pursuing equality in the medical and professional world, Shreya believes that change begins in education. She has written curriculum to incorporate more cultural diversity into her high school's English curriculum, and she hopes that with this inclusion of culturally-responsive pedagogy, IMSA's English classrooms will be able to foster spaces for open dialogue to help students understand and appreciate each others' diverse experiences. Shreya's future goals include a degree in neuroscience and a career in medicine. Outside of school, Shreya is an advanced Indian classical instrumentalist and dancer.
