About Shreya Bhandari

Dr. Shreya Bhandari has her Masters in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India and PhD in Social Work from University of Missouri. Post Masters she worked with women facing domestic violence in a crisis center in Mumbai, India.  Her research interests are Violence Against Women, specifically Domestic Violence in South Asian community and rural women in the Unites States. She has presented her research on domestic violence in various national and international conferences. She has finished a study on 'Coping Strategies of South Asian women facing domestic violence in the United States' funded through the LEADER grant of National Science Foundation. Continuing her work internationally, she has wrapped up another study looking at coping strategies of women facing domestic violence in India. Her teaching interests include Multicultural Competence, Research methods and Social Welfare Policy.
