Abstract

This paper examines the issues of globalization and immigration trends from South Asian countries and how these affect South Asian immigrant women in the United States. The advantages and disadvantages of globalization and its relationship to the status of South Asian immigrant women in the United States are processed. Globalization liberates women if they abide by the patriarchal norms without challenging them. Domestic violence further complicates the situation and increases the vulnerability of these immigrant women in a foreign land.
