About Shanti T. Bruce

Shanti Bruce, Ph.D., is a Professor and Assistant Dean of the School of Communication, Media, and the Arts. She earned the Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award and was the 2011 NSU Convocation speaker. Her books ESL Writers: A Guide for Writing Center Tutors (Heinemann, now in a 2nd edition) and Creative Approaches to Writing Center Work (Hampton Press) were each honored with the International Writing Centers Association’s Outstanding Scholarship Award for Best Book. She also published What Every Multilingual Student Should Know About Writing for College (Pearson) and Tutoring Second Language Writers from Utah State University Press. She co-edited a special issue of Academic Exchange Quarterly and recently published a book chapter in Transnational Writing Program Administration.
