AbstractThis article briefly outlines the development of a Catholic approach to ecological awareness with particular examination of environmental education in Australia. The importance of teacher formation in the area of eco-literacy, both at pre-service and postgraduate level is highlighted. Specific reference is then made to the experiences and perceptions of teachers and pre-service teachers in two case studies at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus.
