About Seran Schug

I am currently involved in three research projects: I am collaborating with faculty from Drexel University and Rowan University as co-investigator on the development of an interactive story mobile health phone application for underserved urban youth and we have submitted a grant entitled "Trauma-informed Approach to Improve Healthy Decision Making in Adolescent Girls,” to NICHD. I am also continuing a seed funded project with faculty from Rowan University entitled " Medical Education: Embodied Struggles between Competence and Empathy" with Joy Cypher, Jay Chaskas, and Neil Rosen. I have conducted interviews for the project and completing transcriptions and analysis of the data. I am also serving as a consultant for three mental health facilities in Yerevan, Armenia which requires ethnographic observational analysis and applied anthropology to train mental health professionals in the theory and application of the creative arts therapies.
