Abstract
This newest guide to modern Native American literature is divided in two parts. The first part consists of the editor's introduction to the context of American Indian literatures. The second part has four chapters, one each
providing analysis of literary works in fiction, poetry, drama, and nonfiction and introducing a selection of authors and works in these categories. As I do not wish to critique the selections of writers, nor the biographies of
the selected authors, this review will focus on the book's overall, theoretical approach to Native literatures which defines the text.
