About Savannah Long

Savannah Long joined the faculty in 2021 as the digital services librarian. She is responsible for maintaining faculty and student scholarship on ScholarWorks and SSRN, as well as managing the law library's social media profiles.

Prior to coming to UBalt, Long received her Masters in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Arizona while participating in the Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library Fellowship. As a Law Library Fellow, she assisted with teaching, the creation of library materials, and more. Before beginning her journey into law librarianship, she received her J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School and graduated cum laude with her Bachelors in Psychology and Natural Resources Management from the University of Alabama.

Long's research interests include disability law and advocacy, environmental law, animal law, and legal pedagogy. She previously worked with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (now the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy), as well as Gramling Environmental Law, a Tampa-based firm.

Long previously had a service dog, Ginny, who has inspired much of her research and advocacy. She now lives in Baltimore with her partner and their two dogs, Molly and Penny, who enjoy binge-watching TV or quietly reading science fiction and fantasy books with her.
