Abstract

The article discusses gender-based violence against women by state actors and the ensuing impunity for the same in India. It highlights the obstacles to justice and the law reform initiatives that try to bridge the gap between the law as it exists, and the ground reality as experienced by women. It ends with an emphasis on the importance of a political will to ensure justice and accountability.
