Abstract

An Environmental Engineering Initiative Working Group was established at the University of Dayton (UD) to research issues relevant to educating environmental engineers. The general objectives were to:

  • Summarize trends relating to environmental engineering
  • Examine supply and demand issues of graduates associated with environmental engineering
  • Present university-specific issues to be considered in selecting the most appropriate approach to educate environmental engineers
  • Compare approaches to educate environmental engineers

To help maintain objectivity, the working group members have diverse backgrounds and represented the departments of chemical engineering (CME), civil and environmental engineering (CIE), and environmental engineering technology (EVT) at UD.
