About Sanford White, MD, MPH, FAAFP

Dr. Sanford White is a Board Certified Family Physician who founded Ensign Family Medicine, LLC in 2002.  He set out to reestablish a traditional family practice environment where the doctor and patient know and trust each other and work together to achieve optimal individual health and well-being.  As a family physician, Dr. White is trained to care for children and newborns as well as adults and the elderly.
 
Dr. White is a Board Certified Family Physician.  He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Clark County Medical Society, the American Academy of Physicians and Surgeons and the Nevada State Medical Association.  He is licensed in Nevada and maintains privileges as an active staff physician at Southern Hills Hospital where he is Chief of Family Medicine.  Dr. White is also an active member of the Faculty at the newly developed Southern Hills Family Medicine Residency Program and Adjunct Family Medicine Faculty at Touro University School of Medicine. 
 
The Utah Valley Family Medicine Residency program in Provo, Utah was home to Dr. White during residency training from 1999-2002.  Prior to residency he was awarded the degree of Medical Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas.  Additional degrees were earned at the University of Utah, Master of Public Health, in 1994; and at Brigham Young University, Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) in 1993 (Go Cougars!!). 
 
In addition to Dr. White’s medical practice, he has served as a Health Policy Fellow with the United States Senate and a consultant with the Clark County Health District (now SNHD).  He has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings including urban medical centers, rural hospitals, pediatric hospitals and clinics, emergency departments, suburban practices, nursing homes, urgent care facilities and with NCAA sports teams.
