Abstract
To set the stage for the Asian American and Pacific Islander Research Coalition (ARC) Summit, authors examine over 250 pieces of existing literature on AAPIs in education and share insights that emerged from our analysis. In the next section, we discuss four perspectives from which AAPIs have been viewed as a subject in the literature, which offer an understanding of the ways in which this population is conceptualized and analyzed in educational research. Then, we delve into our review of existing literature. We conclude our discussion with some critical considerations that emerged from this analysis and can inform our collective journey to construct a unified voice that can catalyze a new area of research, policy, advocacy, and social justice among AAPIs in education.
