Poetry And Diversity: The Power of Miserly Words in TeachingCurriculum and Instruction Faculty and Staff Scholarship
Document TypeConference Proceeding
AbstractI share perspectives on selected everyday issues that have a multicultural import. Some of the poems presented are from The Road To Kenema And Other Poems (2003). I contend that there is a connection between poetry and diversity, and that teachers could use poetry to introduce difficult topics, and develop critical thinking with their students in all disciplines.
