(2011)
  • Samuel Hinton, Eastern Kentucky University
Abstract
This is the story of a little girl who is motivated by her dreams to enter the dancing competition in her village. African dance uses improvisation and the entire body. Some dancers learned their moves from former dancers who became famous by participating in dance during various rituals, celebrations, or festivities. Bintu's grandma was a champion dancer. Learn how Bintu's family comes together to support her in the big competition.
