Abstract

The interaction of dump truck and haul road has been simulated with the dynamic virtual prototype established in this work by combining the multi-body and soil dynamics with the Automatic Dynamic Analysis Mechanical Systems (ADAMS) software. The tyre forces, road deformation and tire stresses are simulated. The results indicate that the max deformation value increases non-linearly with load varying from 0 to 57.61 and decrease with elastic modulus from 60 to 240 MPa. The result also shows that high stress field applied to each tire is around contact point between tire and road. Copyright © 2008 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
