Samantha Coldwell, a lifelong Greater Akron resident, works at Barberton High School as their Marketing Management teacher as well as work program coordinator. She also teaches Marketing courses at The University of Akron. Additionally, she provides independent marketing consultant services and provides professional development for educators in the areas of instructional technology. In addition to her role as a Marketing teacher she serves as the district’s DECA Advisor. DECA is an association of marketing students that prepares emerging leaders and. entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
Since graduating from Kent State University in 2005 with a BA in Career & Technical Marketing Technology, Samantha has been involved in several community service and leadership development programs in Akron including the Board of Directors for Torchbearers, Emerging Leaders Board for Heart to Heart Communications, Akron Better Block Planning Committee, Connect2Akron Planning Committee, Co-Organizer for Barberton Fourth Friday, Akron Rotary Chair for the Shoebox Project & Dictionary Project, Co-Organizer for Cuyahoga Falls Better Block and by Co-Founding the annual Halloween Charity Ball Fundraiser that has raised over $235,000 since 2005. She also received her Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology in 2011 from The University of Akron.
Samantha has been recognized for her leadership in the community with the Akron Chamber of Commerce’s 30 for the Future Award & by Akron Life Magazine for making a difference in her community.
