About Sally Robertson

Sally Robertson is a Research Fellow in the International Surveys Division at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). Sally has worked as an educational researcher for over nine years, having worked at the New Zealand Council for Educational Research (NZCER) prior to joining ACER in 2015. She has led and contributed to a wide range of research, evaluation and assessment projects.

Sally’s work on large-scale assessment projects includes: the Monitoring Trends in Educational Growth program (MTEG) in Afghanistan, the Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM) and India’s National Achievement Survey (NAS).

Sally is a certified Agile Project Management Practitioner and has experience in project management and coordination, providing capacity development support to national teams, and project reporting.

Sally’s recent projects include leading a sector review of girls’ education programs in Malawi for UNICEF and the Malawi Ministry of Education, providing technical support for Indonesia's national assessment centre, Puspendik, and providing support to the Afghanistan Ministry of Education for the development of a national assessment strategy.

Sally also contributes to the work of ACER’s Centre for Global Education Monitoring (GEM), which supports the monitoring of educational outcomes worldwide. In 2017, she was one of 1000 participants selected from around the world to attend UNLEASH, a workshop designed to develop solutions to address the Sustainable Development Goals.
