About Ryan C. Hendrickson

Professor Ryan C. Hendrickson (Ph.D. Nebraska) teaches courses in International Relations, American Foreign Policy and International Organization. His research focuses on American military action abroad, congressional-executive relations over the use of force, and various aspects of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, including NATO expansion and leadership at NATO. He is the author of The Clinton Wars: The Constitution, Congress And War Powers (Vanderbilt University Press, 2002) and Diplomacy and War at NATO: The Secretary General and Military Action after the Cold War ( University of Missouri Press , 2006). His publications have also appeared in Armed Forces & Society, Comparative Strategy, Etudes internationales, Foreign Affairs, Journal of International Relations and Development, Journal of Slavic Military Studies, Journal of Strategic Studies, Parameters, Political Science Quarterly, and Security Dialogue, among others. He is past President of the International Studies Association-Midwest, and serves as the Department's Graduate Coordinator.
