Abstract

In order to be successful in the modern world a professional needs to be creative, open to innovation, and able to take responsibilities. Innovation and creativity are not skills a person is born with, they have to be taught. However, the course syllabus has almost no room for teaching anything except of standard course topics and even more standard applications. Course project may be a solution to this problem. But being a strong tool for teaching an innovation, such a project is a challenge for both students and instructors. In this talk I will discuss some outputs (both positive and negative) of the innovation project ``Trip to Mars'' given in my ``Differential Equations'' class.
