Abstract
The generalized Lame's equation is derived as expansion around one of the singularities of the equation and the coefficients of this expansion are shown to obey the four-term recurrence relations. The problem of quantization of ellipsoidal separation constants is solved and the ellipsoidal basis is constructed for the Helmholtz equation or the Schroedinger equation for free motion on the three-dimensional sphere.
