A Khaki Future?
Overland (2013)
  • Rowan Cahill, University of Wollongong
A discussion of Australia as a warlike nation with a strong martial component at the core of its national culture. The article sketches the martial history of the nation since European settlement and the ways in which martial endeavours have been politically manipulated to become a key part of the national culture. Suggestions are put forward as to how this emphasis can be countered.
