About Roger D Waldinger

My research concerns international migration, with a principal focus on the United States. Using the full array of social science tools – field work; archival research; secondary data analysis; original surveys -- I have written about a broad range of migration-related topics –- labor markets, self-employment, assimilation, the second generation, high-skilled immigration, immigration policy, and public opinion. My latest book, The Cross-Border Connection: Immigrants, Emigrants, and their Homelands, will be published in 2014 by Harvard University Press.
