Ministerial obligations often foster significant inequities where family life is considered. The minister as a husband alludes to the commitment taken at the alter of marriage and the unique advantage of working as a unit ministry. The author uses first hand accounts to emphasis the necessity of inclusion and consideration of spouses. In combating feels of isolation, lack of appreciation and discontent amongst spouses, this study examines the importance of providing a nurturing environment for spouses. Parameters examined include: Faithfulness and loyalty, respect for individuality, intimacy, priority and the lonely, disillusioned wives. The author suggests that ministers not regard their wife as a useful appendage someone to keep house, cook the meals, and keep the kids out of his hair. She is his second self a true partner in their shared life and ministry.
