About Rodrigo Tarté

Dr. Tarté is an Associate Professor of Meat Science and Technology in the Department of Animal Science at Iowa State University. He joined the Iowa State faculty in 2015 after nineteen years in research & development roles in the meat processing industry, during which time he worked as Director of Research & Development for the John Morrell Food Group (Smithfield Foods) (2012–2015), Creta Farms USA (2011–2012) and Rica Rondo S.A. in Cali, Colombia (1996–1999), and held various Research & Development positions at Kraft Foods/Oscar Mayer in Madison, Wisconsin, USA (1999–2011), including leadership of Oscar Mayer’s Meat Science Research Group (2005–2009). He is the 2013 recipient of the American Meat Science Association's Meat Processing Award.
