About Prof. SNELL, Robin Stanley

Prof. Snell is a Professor in the Department of Management at Lingnan University. After receiving a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Sheffield, U.K., he began a long association with Lancaster University, U.K., where he obtained an M.A. in Organisational Psychology and a PhD in Management Learning, and worked as a Lecturer. His first post in Hong Kong was at City University of Hong Kong, where for a time he co-ordinated the M.B.A. programme and edited the journal Management Learning.

An exponent of qualitative research methodology, Prof. Snell has completed several funded projects in the areas of managerial and organisational learning, and business ethics. His work has been published in Asia Pacific Journal of Management, British Journal of Management, Business Ethics Quarterly, Human Relations, Human Resource Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management Development, Journal of Management Education, Management Learning, Organization Studies, Personnel Review, and Thunderbird International Business Review. His book, Developing Skills for Ethical Management, was published by Chapman and Hall in 1993.Dr Snell has conducted several consultancy projects in public sector organisations, and has run workshops on business ethics for senior managers in the private sector. His current research projects focus on the authenticity of organisational citizenship behaviour, gender and performance management, and business ethics in China.
